I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper. The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil. He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out, and your coming in. From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Good night, my friends!

{Thanks for requesting this tutorial, Hannah!}

Alright, so you’ve seen them all over the place on blogs – those little sidebar widgets that magically scroll through blog buttons, books you’ve read, or anything you can think of. And now, you want one.

Here’s how to do it…

First of all, you need open up your Blogger Dashboard, and click “Design“. Then, go ahead and click Add a Gadget in your sidebar column.

Click HTML/JavaScript.
Paste the below code into the box:

______________________________________________________________________

_______________________________________________________________________
What does this do? Let’s break it down.
span class=”Apple-style-span” style=”FONT-WEIGHT
This, (I think) tells the widget what to put in there, and how wide it’s supposed to be, although I’m not entirely certain on this point. This widget is going to span the width of your blog sidebar – if the buttons are cut off at the sides, your sidebar may be too small….
marquee direction=”up” onmouseover=”this.stop()”onmouseout=”this.start()
This tells the widget to stop scrolling when your mouse hovers over it, and start again when your mouse moves away.
If you want your buttons to move a different direction, change “up” to down, left, or right.
scrollamount=”5″ bgcolor=”#ffffff”>
This is the only part you might need to/want to edit. “5″ tells the widget how fast to scroll. The higher the number, the faster it goes.
You can change the background color by changing the #ffffff to an HTML color code of your choice.
Now, go ahead and gather together all of the blog button codes that you’d like in your slide.
It’s a fantastic idea to paste them all into a .txt file or something of that sort beforehand.
Now, paste your button code(s) below the first code you put in like in the screenshot above.
If you put in multiple codes, remember to leave a space between each one!

Your end result will look something like this…

Lovely Photo - Wordless or Not-So-Wordless Wednesday at Aspire
I’m linking up with the first ever Lovely Photo Wednesday over at Aspire!
I won’t be silent here (sorry Hannah, not quite that brave – and certainly not omitting a post title yet). I took this picture months ago, but it’s one of my favorites from this summer.
Why?
It captures so many memories for me – things that have changed over the past couple of months – both the good and the bad. It makes me remember that there is beauty in all of it, both the good and the bad. And it reminds me not to take the people you love for granted, which is so easy to do.
It’s amazing how many memories and emotions can be encompassed with one little picture. Of something beautiful.

Yesterday, on my Miscellany Monday post, I promised that I would give more details on Peter and Opal. I also have some pictures (yes, finally!).

This is Peter – he’s a New Zealand White rabbit and is about 8 years old. This picture (which isn’t all that good) was taken just a few minutes ago, so if he looks a little rough, then yes. I’m certain he’s feeling pretty sick right now.
We’ve already determined that he’s almost totally blind (Did you know: NZW rabbits can develop an inherited form of glaucoma that will cause them eventual blindness?). Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure he has some other kind of sickness/condition that I can’t lay my hand on.
He was an outdoor rabbit – now we’ve moved him into my room. And in the process, we’ve moved Opal out.

Opal is currently living in my little sister’s room, and has resolved to hate me for the rest of my life.
Why, you ask?
Because of this.
and this…
All this for a rabbit? She’s not too happy with the idea.
This is the “I hate you” look.
Not to say that she isn’t being loved. I think she’s wearing more doll clothes and having more tea parties then we could count. And from what she told me last time I saw her, she’s not too pleased with it.

Most of you know that I live on a farm. Not that you would draw any conclusion from my blog title… Some of you know that the farm I live on has been in my family for generations, and that we grow organically.

Definitions: “organic” -  of, relating to, yielding, or involving the use of food produced with the use of feed or fertilizer of plant or animal origin without employment of chemically formulated fertilizers, growth stimulants, antibiotics, or pesticides. {all due credit to Merriam-Webster.com for the definition}

Definitions: “Monsanto” – the big corporation/giant that produces the genetically engineered seeds that grow into much of what you consume today. I call them “bad guys”, but you may draw your own conclusions from the documentary below.

If you’re at all interested in delving into the agricultural complexities of mega corporations, and are wondering why we grow food organically – “without employment of chemically formulated fertilizers, growth stimulants, antibiotics, or pesticides”, I invite you to watch the documentary below.

*Be warned, it’s almost 2 hours long, and may change the way you think about food in general.*

From Google: “On March 11 a new documentary was aired on French television (ARTE – French-German cultural tv channel) by French journalist and film maker Marie-Monique Robin, The World According to Monsanto – A documentary that Americans won’t ever see. The gigantic biotech corporation Monsanto is threatening to destroy the agricultural biodiversity which has served mankind for thousands of years.”

Real life horror movie? Yes.
