Nope, not me. My camera has been out of battery for weeks.

I have this awesome friend though. She’s a professional photographer. She takes absolutely gorgeous photos.

See? She’s insanely talented, and she’s the sweetest person ever. Oh yeah, and did I mention that I get to meet her this weekend? Check her out.

Have a fabulous night, dear readers!

Hi. I’m Amanda. I work here. You want to find books by so-and-so? [Name omitted for privacy] is at the front desk – she’d be glad to help you.

This is my third week of working as a page at my local library. It’s part of the reason I haven’t been on here that much; work and school are totally my life. And Facebook. *sigh* It’s addicting. So is Skype.

The advantages of working at a library:

I come home with books every night. It’s fantastic.

I find cool stuff. Seriously cool stuff.

Now I wonder where the heck I’m going to find time to read all of these. Oh joy…

Hey everyone! I’m guest posting over at Bella Vita today. You should definitely go check it out.

Secondly, this is a preview of my next real-life post, which I’ll finish up after CSA tonight.

I’m kind of having fun with this Paint stuff at the moment. :)

A typical mistake that many people, including myself, make is to lump CSS in with the term “HTML”. I’m currently taking a course on web design that covers a lot of these basic aspects that I’ve managed to miss while teaching myself how to code in these two languages.

First of all – CSS is the stuff the defines what your blog looks like. It allows you to define text styles, colors, background colors, and font styles.
HTML follows after CSS on an internal stylesheet. Those of you with Blogger have an internal stylesheet. This means that your CSS and HTML is lumped into one document. Those of you with WordPress have an external stylesheet – aka, one that is physically separated from your HTML and PHP codes. (We won’t worry about PHP right now.)

This is CSS:

.titles {
text-align: center;
color: #000000;
font-size: 18pt;
{

As you can see, it tells you what the titles of a website will look like.

This is HTML:

<p span class=titles>This is a Title</p>

Above is an example of HTML, using our “titles” class described in the CSS above. The title would be in the center of the page, black, and 18pt big – because of the attributes in the CSS.

Interesting, no?
It may seem basic, but knowing this information allows you to develop much more complicated web pages in the future.

Next up: GIMP tutorial…

Hello darlings,

After a full week of chicken-processing/veggie-washing, I’m pretty tired. Actually, a lot tired. Part of that, of course, is because I have been Skyping with friends at night. *cough* Yeah, I know, but I have to stay sane somehow, right?
The best/worst part is that I start almost the same exact week tomorrow morning at 6:30(am).

Today, I have been to church, eaten goat, and discovered the awesomeness of House. (<--- The t.v. show.) Of course, my friend happened to have the entire first season that I could borrow. Oh goodness. I'm kind of addicted now.

(I apologize for the terrible grainy webcam picture. You get the idea though. :D )

I kind of love having a webcam. Just sayin’.
